GroupsA Pearl of Wisdom and Enlightenment

About meI was an academic health sciences librarian for 37 years and worked in a medical school library. I was head of reference for many years but and worked with electronic resources and databases. I am now retired. I have been an avid miniature book collector since 1983, though I have many other interests as well. These include genealogy, family history, travel, reading, scouting and supporting mission work in my church.

About my libraryI generally collect items that are under 4 inches, but prefer those that are under 3 inches or smaller. My choicest items are hand-made, hand-bound, hand-illustrated or hand-colored mini books, antique miniatures, limited edition mini's from small private presses and those small tomes with unique bindings. I also collect mass market miniatures. Since they are less expensive and much more widely available, I have many more of this type. Running Press miniature editions, for example, are beautifully designed, incredibly well made, and very inexpensive little books. Lately I have also been adding to my catalog at LibraryThing some of my favorite full-size books. I'm interested in books on printing, the book arts, Mormonism, history, family history and art. I also enjoy large size "coffee-table" books. I already have good bibliographic control over my collection, but LibraryThing just adds another dimension. I particularly like the graphic displays.

Hi Fredheid,

Where did you learn that the LDS Church disavowed Orson Pratt's book, "The Seer"?

Thanks
How might I find a copy of "Your Bible Companion" American Greetings Corp?
I see that you have read a book by [John Robert Colombo] Did you know he just registered with LT and you can be one of the first to send him a message or add him as your friend?

You can find him under "jrc"

If you have any trouble get back to me.

Jacqueline
If you like Jewish books, check out my catalogue. I have many Jewish and Messiaic Jewish books.
This is a request for information. Our museum collection has a copy of The Atlantic Readers Sixth Book. This anthology for use in schools was published by T.Nelson and Sons some time after 1916. (The date of the most recent item) Unfortunately, the publisher's information page has been excised from the book.
I would like to add a more exact publication date to our records, together with an address for the publisher. (Edinburgh? Edinburgh and London? Edinburgh, London and New York?, or since this is possibly a North American publication, just New York?)

Any help you would be able to give would be appreciated.
Thank You.

Have a very nice summer, and I hope you get more and more little jewels for your library. Best regards,

Marco Yglesias
