About meI come from a family of writers, teachers and philosophers - bookworms all. All of them have their own ever-expanding collections, but I seem to be the most afflicted.

Luckily my wife loves books as much as I do, reads twice as much as me, but only rarely buys any. In the rare cases that she reproaches me for extravagant purchases, I can always point out that they are for 'us'.

About my libraryIt has taken over our apartment. Despite Regular culling (and two major reductions made necessary by trans-Atlantic moves) it has grown to over 3000 volumes.
It is housed in 11 Billy bookcases, stacked on tables and on the floor (Therefore the sometimes strange tags, an attempt to control the chaos).

The books in in LT are all currently in our possession. I have not entered the hundreds of books read on loan from libraries, friends or photocopied from teachers' rare copies. Neither are included the books read and then given away to friends, family or charity shops (or in the case of my childhood books, simply read to pieces).

Noticed you liked Out by Natsuo Kirino, and I was wondering if you'd be interested in reviewing my new novel and posting your comments here, as well as a few other book-related sites. Thought you might like my book since it's also gritty, a bit violent, and a bit dark :) I could e-mail you the novel in an e-book format if you'd like (I'm out of physical copies at the moment). Here's a link to a summary (and a sample chapter) in case you'd like to read more about the novel before you commit.

You seem to have lots of NYRB Classics in your collection, as well as good taste in books. Which makes you an excellent candidate for the NYRB group here. Join if you're interested!
