You Say I'm a Bitch Like it's a Bad Thing by Ed Polish Own any of Debbie Stoller's knitting books (Stitch and Bitch etc.)? There's some such advice in them - well, in Stitch and Bitch Nation, certainly - that would probably be helpful. I haven't had occasion to put it into use, but it's worth looking into. ... shelter, so since I don't have them around anymore, I've lost count)

I will have to see if I can find a copy. I have just been using the Stitch N Bitch, Knitting for Dummies and The Good Housekeeping Book of Needlecrafts. I know the last one's sort of ... ... of my project, MaggieO. I too have picked the big bad baby blanket with seed stitch from Debbie Stoller's delightful book "Stitch 'N Bitch: The Knitter's Handbook", on page 187. The color I have picked and the yarn is Lion brand yarn's "Baby Soft" in Pastel Blue. I wanted to have a different ... ... the scholarship a bit wonky at times.
And lastly, even though they're instructional manuals/pattern books, I found both Stitch 'N Bitch and Stitch 'N Bitch Nation, (both by Debbie Stoller), really fun reads. They're actually readable and entertaining in addition to being informative.
... They aren't here yet, but last night I ordered Stitch N Bitch and Stitch N Bitch Nation from Chapters. I had a gift card, so it was like getting them for only $3 each after I'd subtracted the gc amount, and I persuaded my mother to buy something as well so I could get free shipping. :) I think I have to go with Stitch 'N Bitch by Debbie Stoller or The Elfquest Gatherum ed. by Dwight Decker; I always like reading engaging things about topics I enjoy, and both of these fit the bill. I never would've imagined I'd enjoy the knitting book as much as I did, (or that I'd ... ... Happy Hooker by Debbie stoller. I never would've imagined I'd actually read knitting books cover to cover, but the Stitch 'N Bitch series is wicked addictive. I find both the patterns and the commentary very inspiring. I'm definitely going to purchase personal copies of both Stitch 'N ... ... or so. I can wait for a used copy or for someone to give me one as a gift.
And lastly, I really want a copy of Stitch 'N Bitch, which I just read last weekend. ... novel, so I'm looking forward to it. Hopefully it won't let me down.
For non-fiction, I'm about halfway through Stitch 'N Bitch by Debbie Stoller. I'm really enjoying it. I already know how to do most of the things she's described so far, but it's got me thinking a lot more ... ... Faces by Kevyn Aucoin - keeper

9. Fingersmith by Sarah W ... I've just started Stitch 'N Bitch by Debbie Stoller as my non-fiction read. I borrowed it from the library for the patterns and was surprised at how much actual writing there is to it. I've been a knitter since I was five years old, so I'm looking forward to finally reading something about ... ... my son. Along with it, a lot of US-sold yarn that I can't get over here, a couple of magazines (Interweave Knits), and a Stitch 'n' bitch knitter's calendar from my lovely librarian-knitter friend S. Hoorah! ... Bok. Will start on that during my Monday morning commute.
Another new library book, my first LT-inspired reading: Stitch 'N Bitch, which is the most popular book with the knitters group, so I picked it up to see what the buzz is about. A book for browsing not reading. ... well as the Anna socks from the new Rowan. The only thing I have on sticks from a book right now is the Hot Head hat from Stitch 'N Bitch. It's for my Dad.

Knitting Rules by Stephanie Pearl-McPhee is by far my favorite individual book. I started with Debbie Stoller's Stitch and Bitch, which has fair instructions and a great sense of humor, but (for a raw novice) relatively cryptic illustrations.
