Don't read it if you don't want to get sad and morose. The Recorporation plot feels like it was dismissed too quickly, but who doesn't like a good psychedelic sex scene? Moore's amazing run on Swamp Thing continues here as run into everything from fighting off death and hell with the Phantom Stranger, Deadman, Etrigan, and even the Spectre to Cain and Abel and the House of Secrets to...a Pogo tribute? Yup, that's Alan Moore for you. This trade is even better than volume 1, it gets my highest possible recommendation. i think (it's been awhile but..) this is where we get introduced to john constantine, another incredible creation of moore's and one of my favorite characters from any comic book. The second volume of Swamp Thing explores the relationship between the former man, and the human woman. Holland has come to realise that he is no longer human at all, but rather vegetable, and an earth elemental. Why, then does he have an interest in a human woman at all, or go out of his way to care for her? http://graphicsf.blogspot.com/2007/02... no reviews | add a review
Amazon.com (ISBN 0930289544, Paperback)What Alan Moore, Stephen Bissette, and John Totleben accomplished during their time on the comic book series Swamp Thing shouldn't be underestimated in the history of comics and, specifically, the history of horror comics. The modern comics landscape has been changed by the Vertigo line of books--an imprint that traces its roots back to this version of Swamp Thing. By taking a horror character fully entrenched in a superhero world (as silly as that might seem), this creative team put a new face on horror comics and on horror in general. Swamp Thing: Love and Death is the second collection of the team's work on the series, presented here in full color. Don't let the mediocre Swamp Thing movies fool you, this book is filled with sophisticated suspense and terror.(retrieved from Amazon Fri, 24 Apr 2009 07:57:53 -0400) The first test round has been closed.
